Producing content as a blogger is a very difficult task, but if you can reduce the distractions which are caused by your PC and browser tabs while writing the content then you can improve your writing effectively. This change is simple but very much effective.
Full Screen – Improves your writing
When you are trying to write content on a plain background it is very easy because you don’t have any distractions challenging your mind to jump on more than one thing at a time. Due to the single-mindedness, you can focus only on your blog post content instead of everything else
There are two types of full screens
- Browser full screen
- WordPress full screen
Browser Full screen
By pressing the key – F11 in Windows PC after keeping your browser Active would transform your browser screen into a full screen which would remove almost half of the distractions like browser tabs, extensions, bookmarks, options, windows start menu etc.
A scenario would go this way, when you are starting with the content and suddenly you run out of ideas and are thinking about what can be written and suddenly you tend to watch a youtube tab on the browser or a VLC player menu in the start menu would force you to take rest before completing the post content which is of more priority, but if you hide them by pressing F11 then you have almost nothing to get distracted when you are composing your post.
So, Press F11 now and see how different your WordPress blog post editor page appears and if you follow the next step as well then you would be completely distraction free while composing your WordPress post.

WordPress Full Screen – Improves your Writing
The second set of distractions which arise are through your WordPress and they are your WordPress menu, post options, categorization, menus etc. those options actually help you but they are also distracting you from concentrating on them instead of focusing on the post content alone.
Let me give you an example, You have started writing your post and suddenly you tend to see a balloon popping up from the Jetpack socialize plugin to refresh your google + or facebook connection which you distract you from writing content and you start logging into your social media account to give permissions for WordPress. This way you get out of the flow in which you were writing the content. And, the other option which would distract us is the SEO and readability meters turning green and red (SEO Yoast plugin) based on the changing content which would distract you to set the SEO parameters first.
The Yoast parameters are important but they are unimportant while composing the post and the place of SEO and social media connections come into picture while hitting the final PUBLISH button.
Below is the screen comparison with no distractions after WordPress Full Screen
WP Fullscreen is Automatic
One more interesting feature about WordPress full screen is, it is completely automatic and that is the moment you start composing content it would hide the options surrounding the post so that you can completely focus on content creation and once you are done with that and want to publish, then you can simply hover your mouse outside the content box then the options tend to appear once again. If you again start making changes to the content then they disappear automatically again.
How can you enable it?
You have a full-screen option to the right corner of your WordPress blog post content editor. If you click on it then it gets enabled and starts protecting you from distractions.
However, once you finish your first draft, retain your Browser’s full screen so that you may stay distracted until you complete the final draft post which is good enough to Publish.
