In order to help the creators, YouTube provides more than one publish options and this blog post is about that. By making use of those options, we can get our work done more effectively and easily (which would be tedious when you are ignorant of them).
Youtube Publishing options
The following are the three types of publishing options available on YouTube
This is one great option if you don’t want people on YouTube to watch the video, but the video should be accessible to people over the web if they have the link to Video.
For example, if you want to make a
video for your friend, but have difficulty in sharing it through online cloud drives, but by putting on YouTube, both you and your friend can watch the video in YouTube itself instead of uploading and downloading the whole file just for sharing.
I haven’t tried this option anytime, but if you have tried and know more uses of it then share it with me through the comment section.
When a video is with Private status then only you can view the video and no one else on the web. This is one of the best options because when you upload a video to YouTube, there are a lot of things you need to take care of like
- Eye-catching and effective Video title
- End screens & Annotations
- Video details like – Original Language, Video creation date, Allow Embedding etc.
So, until you complete all these parts of the Video, you can keep the video private. And, even you can select the option to whether notify your subscribers or not on this Video publish by keeping your video in Private.
You can keep your video private, make all necessary changes or provide all information as mentioned above and then schedule it.
The video in this state is available to everyone over the globe and everyone can access it. When you are sure that everything is ok with your video like details, edits, information, End screens, cards etc. and it is ready for publishing then you need to make the option as Public and Save changes
Note: You can make a video private after you have made it public as well.
This is one of my favorite options because I don’t get time every day to edit videos and publish them once every day but they get published once each day. Though I might have the time it would depend on various scenarios like I might make it to my machine at a particular time every given day to publish a video at say 6 PM every day.
But, through schedule option, we can make this possible. Once you are done with a video, publish it using schedule at time (say 6 PM) and when you are done with a second video, try to schedule it for next day 6 PM this way you tend to publish at same time every day regularly and you can even intimate your audience that there will be a video at 6PM every day and increase reach of your content.
