John chow is one of the reputed bloggers who has set a trend in the blogging industry through his blogging skills and I came to know about him recently, his blog was awesome and the way he does blog is really inspiring for every blogger (especially newbies).
I do follow Harsh Agarwal as well through his blog shoutmeloud and his youtube channel where he posts about various blogging tips and interviews as well. He has recently uploaded an interview of John chow where he asked a very useful question to John chow and his answer was astonishing as well.
What attitude is required online?
Best way to become expert is to talk to experts.
The above was the question asked by Harsh Agarwal when he met John Chow
Develop a Thick Skin for becoming a good blogger
John chow’s answer was to develop a Thick SKIN, it is no routine answer to such a generic question. He intends to give a wonderful message about how sticking to the basics and doing what we are best at makes us one good blogger like John chow & Harsh agarwal instead of becoming a mere copycat.
How true is it?
People criticize you because at the bottom of their heart they feel that you are really a capable person.
John chow has no need to say lies, but being a blogger for more than a year I want to share my experience on the tip he has given. You would have never tried so many new things before being a blogger, this was my experience when I started blogging. I had to try many new things and as everything was pretty new to me, I had to ask for help and I felt very difficult to ask someone whom I don’t know till now for a help. The questions which used to cloud my mind were,
- What would others think about me?
- Will they make fun if I don’t know this?
- What happens if they won’t respond?
To be frank, nothing of the above happened, there are many more questions which might come in your mind (when you begin something new in life & blogging) and even when you start asking and speaking to a completely unknown person.
So, to add to the point which John Chow made, we should develop tough skin not only to bear negative responses or comments from others, but also a tough skin to proceed when we have an idea which no one has implemented till now.
Unless you take a bold risk to do what you want to do instead of focusing on what would others think of me? You can’t do anything of great importance, my experience taught me that we have to only focus on what is the extra value we are providing to the audience instead of focusing on others.
One more thing, no one has time to criticize you they are busy with their own lives and even if they do criticize you then intellectually analyze that criticism for any constructive feedback and if nothing useful is there in that feedback then let it to go from one ear to another.
Don’t Forget to develop tough skin to become Good blogger
